In Death At Owell Rock Mark Damon looks like his Ferguson character from Requiescant, and the lighthearted scenes are only early in the film, so it is promising.
The crime theme is simple, but complicated executed, still entertaining. The music is occasionally really good with the traditional trumpets, especially in the last several minutes.
The Italian locations are the usual for example the Western town Cinecitta and Mexican pueblo also at Cinecitta (both connected).
I rate it as another solid 6/10. Probably not enough engaging or special for a 7/10 IMO.

Saw this for the first time today (Koch Media DVD) and was surprised at how poor this was although a number of Fredaās films, in my experience, are inevitably sloppy.
Continuity and geography errors galore, confusing and abrupt transitions, ridiculous scenes. The humour appeared deliberate at first but then disappeared. One murder scene is lit like a Bava movie but the killer is obvious anyway so thereās no point. The epilogue is bizarre with Damon in the middle of the town street but one step forwards and he is in the middle of the countryside! Even one of the documentaries cut to Stephen Forsyth when the presenter started talking about Mark Damon!
Nicely made movie with good actors and beautiful musical score but also with a rather weak plot.
I also think it would work better if it was not so lighthearted at places and Forsyth and Damon swapped their roles. 3/5
