Clint Eastwood vs. Lee Van Cleef

Yeah, I heard about that to. Next time I rewatch “High Noon”, I’ll try and spot him (that shouldn’t too hard, as he is very reconisable with those snake eyes!).

It’s easy. He’s the first guy you see in High Noon. First or Second shot (do not forsake me…)

And he looks so van cleefish

Most Spaghs too, right ;)?

Are you trying to put a hidden message in here to warn us from showing it to kiddies?

That’s great. I’ll probably end up just rewatching the (great) begining again just to see him in it.

Yes, the credit sequence with the song over it is magnificent.

Kids today would no doubt find it too corny.

No, I meant it deals occasionally with complex themes - it’s not just punching cows, slapping leather, pulling triggers and comparing chaps (now that sounds like something you shouldn’t show to kiddies…)

Used to laugh sometimes re Rawhide on how nosey the crew were. But then again if they had not been the series would not have lasted as long as it did.

No wonder Eastwood jumped at the chance to play Joe/Manco/Blondie!

Lee Van Cleef, no contest.

And he didn’t need a stunt-double to ride his horse! ;D

He needed a step ladder to get on the horse though

This thread brings to mind the song “Clint Eastwood” by the Upsetters - “Clint Eastwood tougher than Lee Van Cleef!”

That is only a rumour (possibly) spread by Sergio Leone after the making of “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly”, when Leone and Eastwood didn’t exactly part as friends.

If we’re doing Trojan shootouts…

“This is the days of wrath Eastwood,
I am the ugly one.
If you want me meet me at the big gundown,
I AM VAN CLEEF!
Die, die, die!”

(Lee Van Cleef by King Stitt)

Ranking!

Now, if only I could remember the lyrics to Golden Chickens

A great lyric, this!

LVC of course. No explanation needed.

I would never have guessed…

So who’s winning right?

I don’t get this. Is it some sort of hidden joke?

No… who’s winning so far - Clint or Lee?
