Watched recently Città Violenta by Director Sergio Sollima. IMO a goodie but not very typical for Charlie with a catchy sound of Morricone.
The killed The Giggler, man. The Giggler!
Great movie…
They had no business doing that! None!
Heh heh…I remember watching that movie for the first time back in the day and thinking it was so awesome…
This movie is awesome. Best unintentionally funny movie ever ;D
It’s a shame he lost his squint and doesn’t look as tough after Death Wish 2.
Top 10
- OUATTW
- The Mechanic
- Death Wish 2
- Death Wish
- Death Wish 3
- The Stone Killer
- Chino
- From Noon Til Three
- Hard Times
- Mr Majestyk
I find it strange that some people prefer Death Wish 2 over original. It’s basically just a remake, original is so much better. Third one is great as a campy fun.
Always surprises me how graphic Winner made the second one in the uncut version.
Sure the rape scene is horrible… but I just think the pacing and atmosphere is better in no 2… and the action is so gritty and well done, especially that fight scene in the hospital.
i loved the death wish series the most weak of those it’s the death wish 2 it’s more like a drama for me
rather than a action movie
Death Wish 1 is even less of an action movie, though. How would you rank them?
Both Death wish 1 and 2 are more drama/thriller films than action films. If you want action, Death wish 3 has it in spades.
Death wish 1, from a story aspect, is by far the best film in the series. The character development is just terrific. I love how the movie didn’t get lazy and just make Bronson a killer overnight. I love the gradual transformation from liberal architect and family man to vigilante.
Btw, anyone seen Harry Brown? Its basically a rip off of Death Wish 1 and 3. But a very good ripoff.
Once upon time…, Violent City and Death Wish are my favorites. Hard Times with Coburn was great too.
There’s something fascinatingly strange about Bronson, He’s not that good actor, he isn’t very handsome or anything like that but on the screen he’s so convincing, a real movie star.
He lived rough life in his youth, working in the coal mine or something like that, if I remember correctly…
Exactly my feelings, as well. Love Bronson; he’s one of those men who epitomizes the classic ‘tough’ Hollywood. A ‘man’s man’ if you will!
Enjoyed it alot. Caine is on top form fighting the scum.
It’s pretty brutal, yes. I’ve only got the censored UK VHS tape. Which DVD of Death Wish 2 is completely uncut? I really want a copy but I never know which one to trust.
Death Wish
Death Wish 4
Death Wish 3
Death Wish 2
Death Wish 5
French DVD is supposedly the only one with the unrated version. But I can only vouch for the Columbia Tristar release.
Thanks. I’ll try and get a copy eventually.
Some extra footage not available in any of the dvds from any country is in the Greek vhs. They are non violent scenes though.
I think that’s footage from the US TV print which added scenes to pad the film out.
