Looks like Blue Underground will release The Grand Duel in Blu-Ray in the near future. I took this info from Henryās Western Round-up blog. Hereās what it said.
If the Round-up seems a bit briefer than usual today, Iāve got a good excuse. Fellow screenwriter and western historian C. Courtney Joyner and I spent the day doing audio commentary for the Blu-Ray release of THE GRAND DUEL, the Lee Van Cleef spaghetti western from 1972, which BLUE UNDERGROUND is releasing. It was a lot of fun, but it takes a lot of preparation. Theyāve done a beautiful restoration on it ā Iāll have more information as the release date nears.
Until then, Happy Trails!

For myself, I would it prefer if it was BANDIDOS and not The Grand Duel. Just sayingā¦
But it is already on Blu-Ray from Mill Creek and I donāt think BU can do any better (Mill Creek probably got the transfer from Italy and if so BU would probably use the same) and especially on the price.
Of course this (and the fact that BU is re-releasing Keoma on DVD) makes me wonder if perhaps Mill Creek again released (well ok, they only tried to release Djangoā¦) something they donāt own the rights to.

Iām not bothered about the Django not coming out but am bothered about losing the Sacramento film.
Iād be happy to buy it as a single edition if they put it out.
Apparently Mondo HE (Italy) has reissued the BD of Il Buono Il Brutto Il Cattivo. The release date was December 5, 2012.
The specs on Amazon.it and other websites state an English soundtrack is included for this issue. Can anyone confirm this? I recall a similar claim was made before the Mondo BD was released in 2009 but this was obviously not the case.
Yes it has been out for a couple of months. I havenāt compared it yet with the German disc but the German disc is basically like the old Italian disc except with slightly worse compression it seems⦠or did they do a bit of filtering, not sure. I doubt you notice it in motion.
There is also some sort of ātelecine wobbleā(?) in the bottom part of the frame quite often during the whole movie. It is probably in the Italian disc as well but I never noticed it. Now I probably notice it on the German disc because I read about it and then had to go and look for it.
The French disc has forced French subs if you play it in Italian or English.
