Edit: just seen that James Flower has confirmed the Dollars Trilogy will use the same masters as the Arrow releases. From his comment on the criterion forums:
For anyone speculating, the trilogy will 100% be the Arrow masters, given we only recently finished delivering them (as well as the deleted and extended scenes, and Italian credits) back to MGM so that other licensors could exploit them, hence why you’re just now seeing GBU UHD listings up in France, Italy and now the US, with other territories soon to follow..

Added to the database, along with all the specs. May still have to do some cleanup, as it’s the same extras all over again etc and they keep capitalizing letters like they never had an English class, but okay…

Who fucking cares about the fucking Kino versions. Arrow’s are even more available now thanks to their box set. And who wants OUATITW unless it’s a new print with a correct restoration, fixing Paramount’s mess…

Kino announced a cancelled box set years ago, and decide to take advantage of Arrow’s prints and release it now. Hilarious

Not so sure if that’s a correct causality. They just never put up the effort that Arrow put in, and it’s only now (according to Arrow), that Arrow has returned this material to the license owner (Amazon MGM) who can now provide license takers (like KLSC) with said material, which opens the way for Kino to release a better product without having lifted a finger for it… but that’s not a development they could’ve predicted necessarily
@Alleluja what is a good source of news for releases in Japan? There was some talk about a Fistful of Dollars 4K release in December, from an entry by Fieldworks? Who just re-issued the previous edition but they mentioned something new is coming?
Sebastian That’s a difficult question. The only real option is to keep a close eye on the release calendars of e-commerce sites. Amazon is certainly the most foreigner-friendly platform.
Information regarding the December 4K release of “A Fistful of Dollars” was provided on the “Nile Daishōten” website, which is FieldWorks Inc.'s own sales channel.
However, there was no specific mention of other Spaghetti Western titles.
