If companies like EM can continue to exist thanks to our financial support, then we benefit from that too. It also gives us some influence in which productions we want to see. If EM is a 1-person label, then we should be able to achieve a lot as a community, right? But maybe Iām thinking too lightly about it.
It might be interesting to discuss ideas with the contacts you have. To see if raising money can be useful at all. And we could make a poll about the willingness to donate and the amount.
look, donāt wanna spoil the enthusiasm, but if you look at the number of people who frequent the forum, and the tiny number of people who interact with our social media posts, I think thereās just no way in hell we can raise that kind of money. We canāt even get proper donations going to fund the SWDb itselfā¦
We should start by spreading the word more, I think, broaden the reach of the SWDb (also in other languages), so that we would be in a better position to - at least potentially - run any sort of campaignsā¦

I bought every single EM release to support them and I pretty much will buy every new to blu spaghetti western but it is just the sad reality that we are in a time where discs sales across the board are on a decline and the SW fan base is so niche it is very hard for businesses to turn a profit. I donāt see us getting back to a point where we see a constant steady stream of releases, I think we will just have to be satisfied with anything we can get at this point. Hopefully we can still get a few more new to blu releases over the next few years though.

A few more thoughts on EM:
Perhaps the releases should be optimized. Who needs a DVD in a mediabook with Blue-ray? If EM were to include a soundtrack CD and make this release limited, and of course at a higher price, we enthusiasts would ensure regular basic sales. 250 units at ā¬40 makes 10K! In addition, a simple Blue-ray edition at the normal price.

Haha, this shows that the physical media market is dying. But as I get older, I appreciate them more and more. Besides, spaghetti western soundtracks are just as important to me as the movies, and I revisit them more often.

I also appreciate the spaghetti western soundtrack cds and have several hundred in my collection and my problem would then be that I would most likely already have the cd being included that is the asking price would also be too much for me. But as Sebastian show spaghetti western fans are basically cheapskates You are never going to sell 250 copies at 40 euro unless itās a top tier spaghetti. Soundtracks cds are also selling very slowly these days. Back in the day when I started collecting they were doing runs of 1000-1500 copies which quickly went down to 500 and now we are mostly seeing 300 copy runs which even then can take years and years to sell out.

This. But the silver lining is, there are releases coming and even obscure ones get 4k scans, like the news from the Berlinale regarding holy water Joe or whatever

The colosseo owner has voiced this towards a few people, also not news. Colosseo no longer releases films on discs on their own. Canāt name a case where someone else has, with the help of their licenses though, but I believed there were a few already
