[Blu-ray] Latest and Upcoming Releases 📀

Yes but we are nearly 2000 users in here so that’s the first 2000 sold surely

Yeah only if each one would buy  big “if”

Yeah I know hence the poll to see how many actually did.

The forum doesnt reach nearly enough people for any type of representative numbers

Sure but could give an indication. If 2 out of 20 hardcore fans in here elected to buy a release it would probably make sense that it floundered

“They stopped SWs a whole ago because they sell badly”

Is this confirmed information or your guess?

It sucks that Colosseo stopped doing Spags, they only did a few but I loved their releases and especially their packaging. Their release of Blackjack is one my favourite spaghetti blu rays.

Uli told me that

Not, they stopped altogether releasing movies

An English version is important so that the title can also be sold internationally. That increases the number of buyers considerably. And nevertheless Explosive Media’s sales figures are still low?

I don’t know numbers, but these probably need to be seen in relation to the license costs. The margins are likely super slim.

Half the profit lies in purchasing, an old commercial adage. Reduce the license fee? The license holders should be happy if someone still wants “the old hams”! :cowboy_hat_face: But we can think about it all we want, we’re not in it. WE should buy…

EM is a one-person label with not many deep pockets. There is little leverage in negotiating with the likes of Medusa, Titanus, etc. on that basis. Arrow etc. also have spaghetti westerns constituting just a drop in the bucket. And from a license holder perspective you could care less if someone wants the old hams, it’s entirely unintersting to them.

All we can do is spread the word, advocate for spaghetti westerns, and do our part in purchasing those that do get released…

Can’t we do something with the power of our community? A closer collaboration with EM? Raise money to buy licenses? Pay money up front so they can start production and a cheaper offer at the release? Or is our community to small for these ideas…

I already work close enough, I would say. As big as the SWDb is, its reach is still too little to do actual impact on the wider market, and honestly, we keep overestimating how big the market for such movies really is. EM is already in Partnership with Plaion and so their titles end up in every electronics market etc, they are on every online store… can’t do much more than get the word out… do we really think we can raise money?

Still, I regret that EM has such a small selection on the Polish Amazon. If they had more, I would buy more often, though it’s just a drop in the ocean…

is it harder to just use German Amazon? Where in Poland do you live, I am going this weekend I can bring you some, haha…

Lets say we can raise 10k, will that make any difference?

no idea. I think for us as a community it should be easier to spread the word so that the news about these products reaches more fans rather than raise money on our own to support companies we have no stake in.

The shipping costs on, for example, the German Amazon are one-third or one-fourth of the price of the movie. This sometimes blocks the decision-making process  On the Polish Amazon, I get free delivery. This weekend I’m busy, but sometimes I’m closer to the western border – Wrocław, Międzyzdroje – so we can meet up then
