Hello there,

Does JPC charge much for shipping orders to the US? I might try them for some DVDs and Blu Rays I have on my list. Thanks for any help.

It says here Shipping costs but its different at the checkout to Australia for me 1 item (Blu ray) was 9.09 euro, 2 was 9.45.

They stopped shipping here for about a month but started again a week ago, I don’t know if they started again for the US

SAD HILL UNEARTHED is now on Amazon UK, get it while it lasts

So we’re finally getting that uncut 4K El Puro release?

8K at least, double feature with O’Cangaceiro

El Puro comes to my mind aswell, when I hear something like that. Imagine the day when we slit the shrink wrap off a shiny Arrow El Puro Blu Ray and reverse the sleeve to that gorgeous ā€œcollectors original poster artworkā€. What could the possible extras be?

  • NEW COLLECTORS INTERVIEW WITH ROBERT WOODS
  • LIMITED COLLECTORS BOOKLET
  • LIMITED COLLECTORS SLIPCASE
  • A RATHER BLAND, BUT YET INTERESTING WESTERN Alex Cox (SID & NANCY, REPO MAN) on El Puro
  • COLLECTORS INTERACTIVE MENU

I can’t wait either!!!

Ye-Haw!!! This is some welcomed news, super excited. Are you sure you can’t at least drop some hints? Just some little clues that we can figure out on our own. Please

Was browsing around and found out Per Pochi Dollari Ancora (Fort Yuma Gold/For a Few Extra Dollars) is getting a 4K restoration from Japan!

Oh wow!!! I believe a French disc just came out recently too. I wonder how the picture quality is on the French disc compared to the WE release. But a 4K restoration, that’s awesome.

I remember someone posted that Artus Films in France was going to be doing a release of this, and a release of Anthony Steffen’s Two Pistols and a Coward, though I’m not sure if they’re still in the works. Yeah, an SW in 4K is very cool, so far I think Django’s the only one to have a 4K scan.

The above is only on blu-ray so it will only be in 2K despite the scan  The Specialists have also been scanned in 4K and released on UHD.

well you can stills scan and restore in 4K and then release it on a 2K medium like BluRay

Of course you can. You can also release it on VHS  The resolution will follow the format though. A scan in 4K should give better final picture quality though. Would be better if they would just outright release them on UHD if they actually did bother to do a 4K scan. Oh well.

Not to be a ā€˜pooper’ on this happy news … but I really enjoyed all the scratches and colour fade in the Mill Creek release of ā€˜Fort Yuma Gold’, it felt really cinematic … the sound was a bit woolly during the opening credits, but that’s my only complaint.

Still, any new release is always a good thing

That’s why I much prefer to watch film in a movie theater than anything digital. However when watching at home I want a nice transfer that reflects what it looked like when originally released from a nice quality print, so not what you’re describing!

I understand … but many BD releases are so overly filtered that they don’t look much like the way the first appeared in cinemas.

Also I don’t wish to see something that’s falling apart, with loads of splices and jumps etc … just something that’s closer to the original presentation.

When I watched the Arrow release of the original ā€˜Ringo’ movies, I felt the colours were inaccurate … too much magenta … an unpleasant pink tinge. However if you look at the trailers for both movies on this release, the colour and texture looks like real untreated film.

ā€˜Fort Yuma Gold’ Mill Creek release: Not in horrible shape, just not ā€œremasteredā€ aka tampered with.
