Black Bart (George Sherman, 1948)

Watched it yesterday, nice Koch-Media DVD.
Really a little gem.
Didn’t expect much but was very well rewarded indeed.

Unusual setting (Duryea as Gentleman robber who
falls in love with Loa Montez (!) Yvonne De Carlo).

Inspired dialogue, great images, funny, fast, really
unusual film! (regarding the end too).

Anybody who ever saw this after 1969 probably thought
what I thought: did Goldman / Hill saw it just before
they made BUTCH CASSIDY ??

It looks interesting - who directed it?

George Sherman
The directing is only ok, nothing special. It is entertaining, yes.

And Dureya is pretty good.
