We’re dealing with a second-rate cowboy film, let that be clear. However, the makers demonstrate that they wanted to entertain the viewer. They succeed, frankly, not badly.
After the success of the Dollars Trilogy, countless imitated Clint Estwood as the rather taciturn gunslinger. Here, it’s Tamer Yigit, who does it not without merit.
Furthermore, we have the, competent, actors Cihangir Gaffari and Kazim Kartal in the ranks. As a viewer, you could do worse.
This Turkish western offers all the clichés the genre has to offer. And it does so in a good pace. Tough cowboys, a woman in distress, greed and revenge. It is all here.
This results in a satisfying amount of action, with characters that capture the imagination.
The film does not bore. There is plenty of gunplay and other entanglements. Finally, there is a femme fatale, who provides cleavage shots and, even, side-boob. Not bad.
Linguistically I don’t understand anything of this movie, as my Turkish is severely below par. Nonetheless I was sufficiently entertained. The visual captures the imagination enough for this. Moreover, the, stolen, music feels familiar.
Black & white and a 4:3 screen format is a tad disappointing, for a seventies movie, but it is what it is.
