You can submit a list whenever you want. Phil and Stanton keep track of the scores and publish an update at the beginning of each year. Stanton just did his on the top 20 thread recently. You can go ahead and add your lists to both threads.
Yes, IlMonco, you can post any time, and you can make a new list any time when you think it has changed.
And I prefer it if you post your favourite SWs, the ones you enjoy the most. Forget objectivity, make your list as subjective as possible.
Same with the Alt top 20.
And I just double checked the list of films you canât vote for on the Alt Top 20 and it seems right to me. Essentially, the top 18 of the main top 20 should be avoided. Everything else is fine
Thanks for the replies and clarification! Will publish my lists in march, as Iâm still on a huge spaghetti binge watch this february, revisiting some classics and also discovering new gems. Once thatâs done Iâm ready. Trying to bump my number to a total of 70 seen spaghetti westerns. And yes, my lists will be subjective of course. ![]()
What Iâve also noticed is that places 19 and 20 still donât appear in the alternative list even though theyâre eligible in theory. Is this intentional? Do people ignore them cause theyâre still part of the top 20?
I think the votes for those two get saved, and then if they drop out of the top20 they can be put into this list instead.
You can go to top 19, as it is extremely unlikely that Django Kills will fall out of the top 20 in the next 300 years. The span to # 20 is too big.
So itâs only # 20 which is meanwhile moving around amongst several films which are all close to each other.
And I assume Django Kill did not get much alternative points yet due to the fact that it was unsure if it is part of the voting or not.
Are euro-westerns allowed on the alternative list, while the regular list is only for spaghettis?
Yes, Films 19 and 20 are allowed for votes for the reason given above. There has been movement of films dropping in and out from these positions so I make allowance for this.
And yes, Eurowesterns are fine.
