German release, English audio.

thanks, always good to see a new Italo-Western German release

It’s Sonora, fucking finally.

Just what I was thinking too.

Yeah, that is great news. Hopefully a decent transfer.

Be nice to hear Jack Elams voice on this one finally as do not think he is dubbed over by another actor from a trailer I viewed with english audio a while back.

Thank Christ its finally got a decent release.

Just got an email back from Retrovision. I asked:

“Do you have any info as to when Django the Bastard will be released or what the status of the print/transfer is?”

And received:

“We’re still working on Django the Bastard, as there are some rights issues we are addressing. We will do our very best to keep everyone updated.”

No update since September when they finished the dvd. On their website for Django the Bastard did it always say “available” “delivery in 5-8 days” or thats new?

I dunno, I always thought it said something like TBD. I preordered it, so hopefully this goes somewhere. Hey, at least he’s still alive and answering emails :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, furthering the DtB story, Retro just replied to a message I sent them through FB:
“We’re planning a mid-Spring release on Django, if not sooner. We’ll keep you updated as more details arise. We’re nearly finished with the main product. Thanks!”

Pretty much the same thing as before, except with a release window :stuck_out_tongue:
Just found out that Dutch Filmworks released the following 2 westerns in September 2014 in the Netherlands/Belgium

I bought It Can Be Done Amigo and it’s 2.35:1 but non-anamorphic (in 2014 :o) with italian audio and dutch subtitles. No extras

According to online stores the specification for A Reason to Live a Reason to Die is the same but I can’t confirm
Finally found the A Reason to Live DVD today. As expected, crappy quality, ~2.00:1 non-anamorphic , italian audio and dutch subs

Apparently both dvds were also released together, found these pics on the net

The “Stranger Trilogy” is being released on Warner Archive on April 14th. That Includes “A Stranger in Town”, “The Stranger Returns” and “The Silent Stranger”.

Damn it, just bought the German releases too… Seems I’ll be grabbing this as well, if not only for a legitimate release of The Stranger in Japan :stuck_out_tongue:

German release, English audio.
Received the German Sonora release today - only German and Italian audio - no English audio, but English subtitles.

Sorry about that, it said English audio at the time.

Was looking forward re the english audio on that one…maybe some day it will turn up.

Yeah, I might too, but is $21 worth it for a probably barebones release?

Also, any more news on Raro releasing Johnny Oro? Or is that pretty much dead?

Awesome thanks for posting! Just ordered. Going to double dip on this one…The German Stranger in Japan looks like a shitty VHS tape (and I dont have Stranger Returns) This one will be better for sure.
