What Film Are You Watching Tonight?
Watching the Inglorious Bastards tonight, the Japanese DVD version, not to sure whether it is longer than my old U.K pre cert tape, so if anyone has any info?
Superb film

it’s a bit like an Italian Dirty Dozen, expertly directed by Enzo G Castellari and superb performances all round, especially from Bo Svenson and Fred Willamson

ENJOY!

Just finished watching the Inglorious Bastards, and I much preffered watching it this time round, than when I watched it on VHS.

The colours and sound in the DVD version are a great improvement.

Very entertaining film , with lots of machine gun action.

Fred Williamson is as cool as ever, now why can not everybody be as chilled and laid back as Fred?

I can usually tell music by F D Masi, but he fooled me on this one.

Interesting that the Slow Motion action starts a bit later on in the film.

Enjoyed the ending of the film.

Strange to hear Ian Bannen in a dubbed voice, but Bo Svenson speaks German (Sometimes) in what seems his own voice.

I’m actually looking for this film myself. There is an english version for sale at eBay that runs 87 min it costs £7,5 . There is a japanese version at Xploited Cinema that runs 95 min but it costs $40 >:(.
According to IMDb the film runs 99 min.
It would be interresting to hear from someone who knows how badly the cheaper english version is cut compared to the japanese version

American film called DON’T ANSWER THE PHONE, on a new uncut DVD release.

Friday: House of the Dead II.
Saturday: Back to the future (Part I and II), Captain Apache (good movie. More than I expected).
Sunday: The Shawshank Redemption, Hostel and Run, Man, Run.

my Inglorious Bastards’ PAL VHS runs 94m 07s. English audio.-

watched John Carpenters “THE THING”, still as powerful as when it came out 25 years ago, and it’s strange to see a Carpenter film with an Ennio Morricone score as he usually does his own soundtracks.

The Thing is a great film, when Carpenter was at his best.

The music I know what you mean, but some of the tracks are very Carpenterish if you know what I mean.

Way ahead of its time, and is considered a classic now, but did not do to well when released as I recall.

The C.D to the soundtrack is currently deleted, and is fetching silly prices.

I have heard rumours for a long time they are going to do a remake of some sorts, or even a prequal.

Love the helicopter scenes and that snow and scenery, all to Morricone’s pulsating theme.

Tonight, a tale of high adventure:

‘Conan the Barbarian’

Contemplate this movie at the tree of woe!
Tonight, a tale of high adventure:

‘Conan the Barbarian’
what a film, superb!
what the hell happened with the destroyer!

Death Carries A Cain tonight I think.

I love ‘Conan the Barbarian’. At one time they planned a trilogy but after ‘The Destoyer’ (without John Milius) and consequently a kind of Conan for kids they abandoned this idea. Although John Milius has completed a script for ‘Conan the King’ and there were rumors of making it. But Arnie is on a second run as governator so I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Don’t forget: ‘For no one - no one in this world can you trust. Not men, not women, not beasts. But steel, this you can trust.’

And don’t forget “Crush your enemies, see them driven before you, hear the lamentation of the women”… or something like that.

The Robert E Howard Conan books are worth a read if you like that sort of thing.

I do, in fact I’m a big fan. I have just ordered a volume of Howard’s westernstories. Could be some interesting spaghettimaterial in there! Will let you know.

‘If life is an illusion then I am an illusion and therefore the illusion is real to me. I live, I love, I slay and I am content.’ if I quote Conan correctly…

Yesterday watched Il Ritorno di Clint il Solitario and bored The Monk (Francisco Lara Polop).-

Im gonna watch Super Fuzz tonight!

great Terence Hill fun, i do prefer the other title “supersnooper” though.
