Please, don’t ask me why the fuck I’m watching an experimental surrealist french silent film short cause I don’t know. And me not knowing that is only the beginning of what I don’t know at the moment. Confused? Me too.

Oh, you will enjoy it. It looks great, still today.
And if you don’t like it, at least it ain’t that long.
Yes it is. Made together with Dali.
And followed by the half long The Golden Age, which became then the great scandal Bunuel was already searching for with the The Andalusian Dog.
Great film maker, I love his sense of the bizarre as well as his sense of humour (which was also quite bizarre)
Great use of te desert, by the way, many SW directors must have seen his movies and a film like El Topo would have been completely unthinkable without Buñuel
Viridiana is a special favourite
A British comedy from 1960 starring Terry Thomas, Hattie Jacques and Billie Whitelaw.
Gentle but consistant fun from this farce type offering. As far as I’m concerned anything with Terry Thomas in it is worth and hour and a half anytime and thankfully the family all enjoyed it.
This was actually part of a 3 movie box set I just got of Terry Thomas films which also includes The Naked Truth and Too Many Crooks. A bargain at £3.99 the lot from HMV.
Excellent film and features our own Jose Calvo if I remember correctly.
One of the few films Bunuel actually made in his native Spain. Franco was not a big fan apparently.

Great action horror flick with Warren Oates and Peter Fonda. Two couples are making holidays with their camper. During their travel they rest at a lone place. There they witness a murder during a satanic ritual. Now their holiday became hell.
The movie is a good mixture of paranoiac horror and some nice camper vs. car action scenes. ;)
Yes, an underrated little ‘race horror thriller’ (what we don’t have, we invent), even better than the director’s Nam’s Angels/The Losers, which I rewatched recently (but the old VHS I watched was so awful that I probably should give the movie once again another chance)
Probably much happier for it. That being said, i liked the first two OK.
rush hour 3 was about the same as the other two entertaining.not a big fan of Chris Tucker but he is funny at times here, and some good action as well.
cannot decide on " Get Smart" or " Reign Over Me" tonight. any advice?
I went for “reign over me” because it was the longer film and didn’t know what to expect and i was surprised. it’s said every comedy actor has a serious actor wanting to burst out and this is Adam Sandler’s go at it, now i’m not the greatest fan of him although he’s ok but in this film he is very good indeed and it left me wondering why he wasn’t at least nominated for an oscar, at film’s closing stages he is especially moving, a quiet but quite heart rending film. good 8/10.
Bava’s early gothic horror which was just the ticket for me this morning. Some of the dialogue, narration etc is a bit clunky but over all the mood and style is just how I like it and is Bava doing his thing very well. Barbara Steele is terrific in this but is unfortunately not matched by John Richardson who could have been replaced by a large cardboard cut out for the most part.

Just watched Black Sunday the other day. Steele is mesmerizing. The first 5 minutes are what classic horror is all about. Especially this scene…
I’m watching Flesh & The Fiends (1960) tonight, with Peter Cushing & Donald Pleasance. Supposed to be based on the actual events of Burke, Hare & Dr Knox. A great post mortem Doctor/grave robbers movie that was, as well, ahead of it’s time for the nudity & murder sequences. The murder scenes are still pretty realistic & nothing like what was usually filmed during that era.
The Spikes Gang - part of a sequence of deromanticised Bildungsroman Westerns from the early Seventies that also included The Culpepper Cattle Company and Bad Company. This one from Richard Fleischer isn’t in their class but is always enjoyable and, despite the whimsical tone of its first half, contains some nasty surprises towards the end as its trio of youthful amateur outlaws part ways with grizzled mentor Lee Marvin (great as always).
The narrative arc is predictable, but the film boldly follows it to the bitter end. Gary Grimes (excellent in Culpepper) is the leading youngster, supported by Ron Howard and Charles Martin Smith, who both appeared in other mud-and-rags Westerns: the last-named was also in Culpepper, and meets a bullet-and-blood-spattered demise in Peckinpah’s Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid, while Howard was in The Shootist with another old-stager, John Wayne.
It was shot in Spain and Ricardo Palacios and Tito Garcia have small roles.
A nice little War film with men on a mission. This time on a pacific island during WW2. A group of British and American soldiers attack a Japanese base. The plot is less about the mission but abut how they are trying to escape from the Japanese. Nice cast with Cliff Robertson, Michael Caine and a cameo of Henry Fonda. Fonda’s name is big on the DVD Cover but he has only a short role.
Virgina City (1940/Dir.:Michael Curtiz)
Ever seen a Western with Errol Flynn, Randolph Scott and Humphrey Bogart? Here it is. The Movie is more or less the typical Errol Flynn Movie with a bit of romance and some action scenes.
