Top spaghettis by year?

1985 - Tex E Il Signore Degli Abissi
1987 - Scalps

:stuck_out_tongue:

Sorry

1965

For a Few Dollars More (of course) but the rest of the year belongs to Gemma for me.

Return of Ringo
A Pistol for Ringo
One Silver Dollar
Adios Gringo

But, like Stanton, I would give honourable mention to Why Go On Killing? One of Steffenā€™s best I think.

1966

Much tougher to restrict to just 5. The cycle was really hitting itā€™s stride by now. So hereā€™s my top 10 in no strict order.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
A Bullet for the General
The Bounty Killer
The Big Gundown
A Stranger in Town
Django
Arizona Colt
My Name is Pecos
Johnny Yuma
Fort Yuma Gold

Still a few more that could have easily sneaked in too. '66 was a good year.

1967

Another which requires 10 for me.

$10,000 Blood Money
Face to Face
Day of Anger
God Forgives, I Donā€™t
Django Kill
Bandidos
Vengeance is Mine
Django, The Last Killer
Killer Kid
Kill and Pray

edit: And I still missed out Hellbenders and Death Rides a Horse which I just plain forgot and should really be in the list

1968

Still a good year and so another 10.

Once Upon a Time in the West
The Great Silence
The Mercenary
Run Man Run
Johnny Hamlet
Vengeance
One After Another
If You Meet Sartana Pray For Your Death
A Minute to Pray, A Second to Die
Today Itā€™s Meā€¦Tomorrow It,s You

(With Ace High a close miss for my top 10)

1969

The decline in quality is already beginning so we are back to a top 5. (with a few near misses)

Tepepa
Sabata
Cemetery Without Crosses
The Forgotten Pistolero
El Puro

Near misses: Price of Power, The Specialists and Django the Bastard.

1969:

El Puro
Django The Bastard
Cemetery Without Crosses
The Price of Power

1970

Six this time but only because I canā€™t choose between two Sartanas.

Companeros
And God Said to Cain
A Man Called Sledge
Have a Good Funeral, Friendā€¦ Sartana Will Pay
Light the Fuseā€¦Sartana is Coming
They Call me Trinity

1970

E Dio disse a Cainoā€¦
Una nuvola di polvereā€¦ un grido di morteā€¦ arriva Sartana
Vamos a matar, compaƱeros

Other noteworthy titles:

1971

Blindman
Fistful of Dynamite
Dead Men Ride
Shoot the Living Pray for the Dead
Cut Throats Nine

Honorable mention of another couple of Eurowesterns for this year go to Hannie Caulder and Red Sun. Not 100% Spaghetti maybe but certainly flavoured by it and a lot better than most of what was coming out of Italy at this time I think.

When 66 was the first great year of the SW then 67 was not surprisingly the 2nd. even without a Leone and without a Corbucci.

My # 1 may be another surprise for some:

 1. Lā€™ultimo killer
 2. Dio perdona ā€¦ Io no!,
 3. Se sei vivo spara
 4. Un dollaro tra i denti
 5. La resa dei conti
 6. 10 000 dollari per un massacro
 7. Un uomo, un cavallo, una pistola
 8. John il bastardo
 9. Dio non paga il sabato
 10. Faccia a faccia
 11. El desperado

And there were more goodies ā€¦

My # 1 may be another surprise for some:
 1. Lā€™ultimo killer

itā€™s no surprise for me

1972

Sonny and Jed
The Grand Duel
A Reason to Live, A Reason to Die
Ben and Charlie
Life is Tough, Eh Providence?

1970:

MƔtalo!
Challenge Of The McKennas
A Man Called Sledge
Hey Amigo! A Toast to Your Death

(Q) When 66 was the first great year of the SW then 67 was not surprisingly the 2nd. even without a Leone and without a Corbucci.

My # 1 may be another surprise for some:

 1. Lā€™ultimo killer b

I knew you liked this movie and and I also knew you werenā€™t too fond of la Resa dei Conti, but yes, still a surprise.

So I guess this is for you the best master-pupil spaghetti, apart from For a Few Dollars more ?

Yes. But there werenā€™t much in the end. FAFDM is not exactly one. The only ones I can think of at the moment are this one and Day of Anger (which btw is definitely a 67 film, some have it as 68, which is wrong).

The first 5 of my 67 list are very close in terms of quality. Actually I could turn the succession easily upside down.

Main problem of La resa is the long ranch part which destroys a lot of the structure. But even without this scene it canā€™t hold a candle to the first 3 of 68.

And maybe I put La resa on # 5 only cause it is the best known of those 5

1968, the year in which SW reached its height:

 1. Cā€™ era una volta il West

 2. Il mercenario

 3. Il grande silenzio

 4. Requiem para el gringo

 5. I quattro dellā€™ Ave Maria

 6. Corri, uomo, corri

 7. Un minuto per pregare, un istante per morire

 8. Spara, gringo, spara

 9. Oggi a me ā€¦ domani a te

 10. Black Jack

 11. ā€¦ se incontri Sartana prega per la tua morte

 12. Un buco in fronte

 13. Un treno per Durango

ā€¦ and many more ā€¦

Still some interesting ones in 1971:

Duck You Sucker
Dead Men Ride
Blindman
His Name Was Sam Walbash, But They Call Him Amen

For a Few dollars More is a master-pupil western with a twist, but I wouldnā€™t have expected otherwise from Leone.

Day of Anger, Death Rides a Horse, Pistoleros, In a Coltā€™s shadow all have the master-pupil premise - and I think theyā€™re all better than Lā€™Ultimo Killer (well, In a Coltā€™s Shadow is at the same level)

1973

Itā€™s a real stretch to pick 5 now but hereā€™s what I came up with. As usual in no particular order.

A Man Called Noon
My Name is Nobody
Those Dirty Dogs
Fighting Fists of Shanghai Joe
Valdezā€™s Horses
