The SWDb Top SW soundtrack awards

are they already nominated above?

Sorry, i’m still in a hangover mode.

I’ll second this one. Just missed my Top 10 list and I don’t think it’s been mentioned before:ù_all'inferno

Great choices! There’s also a place in my heart for the soundtrack to ‘I quattro dell’Ave Maria’, too.

I voted for 8, my real favorites. I want my vote to make a difference  so no reason to go up to 20

I think there’s an inherent flaw with these sorts of polls, as people tend to vote for their favorite movie, not objectively what they consider the best soundtrack

Isn’t an inherent flaw also that one cannot weigh ones votes?

We’ll try that next time. I think it’s the first time we’re trying the poll in this forum  It’s kind of hidden… but more to the point of your question, the nominees were already weighed of sorts, and the poll is presented in that order. Now pure votes count. No shenanigans.

Fair enough. Let’s see what the outcome is  I’ll throw my votes tomorrow at some point.

Well, I haven’t. My favorite movie is no doubt Once Upon a Time in the west, but I strongly prefer the GBU soundtrack (and even several others to that famous Once Upon score)

So far, no non-Morricone will make top10, I was thinking maybe Django, Day of Anger or Forgotten Pistolero could crack it.

Yes, this non-weighed voting will be pretty favorable to most popular titles. Since every vote counts equally, more popular titles will undoubtely have more points simply because most people are familiar with them. If it was weighed it could have been countrebalanced somewhat.

My problem is also that for the most soundtracks I only remeber the main theme, not the whole score, so I’m basically voting for the theme.

On the side note, I see that Keoma is going well at 28%. De gustibus…

Is the Poll still open?

I’m so frazzled from packing blimmin’ boxes (because I’ll be moving home very soon), that all I can see is brown tape and cardboard - when I wake, and when I stagger off to bed…

You’ve still got just under a month left to vote.

Cheers, Dean.

As I said, I’m inundated with packing…anyway, back to the grind…!
