The Last Western You Watched? ver.2.0

Digital channels here in the U.S. include a few that exclusively program old Western movies and TV shows. If, a few years ago, you’d have told me that BAT MASTERSON and TALES OF WELLS FARGO would still be rerun on TV well into the 21st Century, I’d have fallen out of my chair. Many of the films shown (in heavy repetition) on OutlawTV and GritTV are the familiar classics like RIO BRAVO and THE SEARCHERS, but obscure '50s Columbia and Allied Artists releases also show up. The channels are geared toward older viewers, but with luck some younger ones will tune in and experience Phil Karlson, Robert Aldrich, Andre deToth, Delmer Daves, etc. But I’m afraid Schepshutter is right, most of the old masters will be forgotten by the public at large.
