Pacino was a great actor in the 70s, but in the 80s he began to “cultivate” a certain kind of overacting which began to become very painful to watch for me. Actually as great as he was e.g. in the 2 Godfather films, as unwatchable he was in so many of his later films.

That’s a good point, he was especially good in The Panic in Needle Park, definitely one of his best roles.
