I love “Take A Hard Ride”.

(django the bastard) #3

and god said to cain might just be the ultimate pasta-western experience

(Yodlaf Peterson) #4

I havent seen them all so i can’t vote yet.

I haven’t seen these three

AND GOD SAID TO CAIN
DYNAMITE JOE
WHISKEY AND GHOST

But VENGEANCE is the best ive seen so far.

i have picked up and old U.K. pre-cert video of …CAIN under the title FURY AT SUNDOWN on market video but i have heard that it is an incomplete print so i haven’t watched it.

I like Vengeance and Take a Hard Ride but not And God Said To Cain.

(scherpschutter) #6

I love And God said to Cain, like Vengeance and don’t think highly of take a Hard ride …

(Starblack) #7

Top rank: And God Said to Cain/Vengeance - Margheriti’s early prowess in horror films really shines through.

Second tier: The Stranger and the Gunfighter/Take a Hard Ride/Dynamite Joe

Haven’t seen: Whiskey and Ghosts

Honorary mention: A Fistful of Dynamite - pretty good model trains

  1. VENGEANCE (8/10)
  2. GOD SAID TO CAIN (6/10)
  3. THE STRANGER AND THE GUNFIGHTER (5/10)
  4. TAKE A HARD RIDE (4/10)

The other two, I do not know.

VENGEANCE, easily. Haven’t seen WATG yet but I doubt it will be among his best.

(Col. Douglas Mortimer) #10

I love And God Said to Cain, but other than that I’m not really into Margheriti’s SWs.

I prefer is horror films with Barbara Steele.

(Dorado) #11

I prefer Margheriti’s war/action flicks to his SW’s among his best are “The last hunter”, “Code Name: Wild Geese” and “Kommando Leopard”

(Stanton) #12

As I’m not very fond of Vengeance, I simply have to agree.

(Phil H) #13

For me, Margheriti was at his best with Gothic Horror and it is the elements of this genre in And God Said to Cain and Vengeance which make them by far his best westerns in my opinion.

(The Stranger) #14

I agree with you, and Vengeance And God Said to Cain are his best. Because of this gothic horror feeling.
For me, this is also the crucial difference.

(ENNIOO) #15

Still have a couple in my to watch pile from the director and his westerns, but I enjoyed Dynamite Joe.
