I´ve seen the first 20 minutes or so, but the sound quality was so bad I turned it off. It had a vhs release in several countries and I reckon they´re of better quality than the cheapo dvd.

Karzan? That must be the record. I’ve heard about this film I think.

I posted a comment after viewing this movie, in the movie watching thread nearly a year ago. Here were my thoughts:

Also sat through Demofilo Fidani's Karzan: Jungle Lord which is a rip-off of, well, you take a guess. Not an original thought in this one but pretty entertaining all way through nonetheless. At one moment one of the characters has a fight for his life with one of the smallest pythons I've ever seen. Hilarious :) The soundtrack (or part of it anyway) by Coriolano Gori was obviously borrowed from a spaghetti western. Forget which one but probably a Fidani.

Version watched: DVD from Retromedia in barely acceptable quality but in OAR. Is a double feature with Luana on the other side. Again recommended.

Actually I have the Danish VHS-release sporting this fantastic cover:

Maybe worth a look for Simone Blondell dressed in fur (the less fur the better)

And to see the Italian cheapo SW locations impersonating a jungle.

When this film was released in Theatres in Sweden (1974) it was cut in 4 places (52m) about 2 minutes. And another version for children up to 11 years cut: (195 m) 7 min.

The US cover looks great too… Karzan fighting a humongous snake … As far as I remember the movie sports a fight with the smallest snake in movie history… More of a worm really … I can see I mentioned it in my comment to the movie above also… Hilarious.

haha, Karzan, stupidity turned into celluloid! It takes excactly 45 minutes for Karzan to turn up, just when you are about to give up on the endless jungle wanderings.
One thing i´m curious about is that i´ve heard there´s supposed to be an alternative ending of this, the one i´ve seen ended with Karzan and wife swinning across a river and then running around happily on a sunset beach after beeing set free by the hunters, but i´ve heard about an ending in which Karzan ends up on display in a zoo! Anyone seen that? Sounds to good to be true…
Speaking of good old Fidani, he did make a porno as well, called BURNING LIPS, i haven´t managed to see it, can´t even imagine how dreadfull it must be…!
