I don’t get the byline. So there is these two specific films coming in November? ![]()
You mean well, and then you get taken for a ride…

I will be taking part as usual.
This year I’ll be watching all of Richard Harrison’s spags as a nod to his passing.
Samsung TV channel Grjngo has SW 24/7.
Groovy!
I’ve just post this promo on my blog. ![]()
Don’t forget George Eastman too.![]()
I rewatched a few of George Eastman’s films after his death. I don’t think I’ll be watching any more of those during this marathon, but you never know!
Grjngo is where I watch a lot of SW’s!
The 2026 marathon started early. The first one I saw was Professionisti per un massacro. Actually, I didn’t watch it on the Wild East DVD—it was on TV when I turned it on this morning. I’d already seen this one several times. It was fun to watch it again this time with my wife. It had us laughing out loud, and overall it’s a great action movie.
I use it too, although I know their business is quite unfair to DVD companies.
Gotcha.
Day 1: A Pistol for Ringo (1965) D-Duccio Tessari. It was fun watching Pistol again after seeing it the first time in 11 years.
Feels good to be back in one of this Forum’s favorite month long events
Spagvember Fest 2026
Day 1
Il Grande Silenzio (1968) Sergio Corbucci *****
Rewatch. Except for the bleak ending, this is a really solid and different entries in the genre. I play the 2nd alternate ending which leaves the film ambiguous to everyone’s fate, which somehow feels more appropriate.
Jean-Louis Trintignant’s sole Western outing is an outstanding one, especially in that he plays the main character Silenzio as a mute. I know this was partly done at Trintignant’s request as he felt a little out of his depth in a Western, but by golly did it make the character memorable. Trintignant definitely had the face to pull off a Western and it’s a shame he didn’t do more of them.
The always controversial Klaus Kinski plays one of the most deplorable characters of his career in Tigrero aka Loco, a bounty hunter with no scruples at all, human life meaning nothing to him save his own skin. Even hardened villains played by the likes of Horst Frank, Fernando Sancho, Piero Lulli, etc., would likely look at him with disgust. He’s also a little bit of a racist when he complains about a black outlaw being worth more than a white one. That Kinski has you hating his character the moment he shows up on screen shows what talent he had.
I do occasionally wonder how Corbucci was able to keep the chaoticness that was Kinski in check during that shoot as Kinski’s performance is quite restrained.
We get a great cast of supporting players including Frank Wolff, Vonetta McGee, Luigi Pistilli, and Mario Brega. Wolff brings much needed lightness as the dedicated Sheriff Gideon Corbett (Burnett in the English dub), McGee in her debut acting performance is amazing as the exotic, sensuous, and heart of gold woman Pauline. Pistilli delivers nicely as the cowardly villain Pollicutt who has a strong and dark link to Silenzio’s past. And Brega delivers the goods as usual as the reliable henchman.
And Morricone delivers one of his most haunting scores ever.
I’ll likely never able to bring myself to watch Corbucci’s intended ending ever again - I still think he just liked screwing with the audience’s heads than having a deeper meaning - but I do have a much deeper respect, understanding, appreciation, and positive viewing experience of this classic after a long period of not seeing it.
Whichever edition you can get your hands on with this SW, definitely pick it up if you’re interested
#1. Leone: Fistful of Dollars
-I started with the classic. Arrow’s 4K release is a feast for the eyes. 9/10
Now, what’s next? Should I just watch it 29 times more? ![]()
Could be worse 29 times ![]()
- Joko,invoca dio … e muori
Yesterday evening started with Richard Harrison in the flic by him , i like the most .
Seen it 7-8 times , for the first time in the early 80s and the cinema premiere in Germany was on October 30th in 1970 . Almost exactly 56 years ago .
Rocco was his best role in my opinion and the one after another story is quite entertaining .
Claudio Camaso as the Professor is remarkable and Mr. Margheriti give us a little creepiness for the final duel in the sulfur mine ![]()
The german criticism from back then named it a trash product . Think its a good one and sing about three more days - VENGEANCE
