Italian Crime Films

Just viewed Death Hunt (not the Bronson Flic) from the late 70’s starring Al Cliver.

Sleazy, pretty low budget, funky score, violence (and quite nasty in bits) and my fav thing in a film…a negative style ending…great stuff!

Has anybody seen this German/Italian production?

On Machine Gun Mccain: Apparently there is a German dvd of it:

Btw, the Jim Morrison in that movie is NOT the one from The Doors.

That’s cool, everything for viewers huh :stuck_out_tongue:

Violent Naples was viewed recently in a nice 2.35 print, as had only seen in a poor quality full screen print in the past.

Has to rank amongst the best Italian crime films going, with non stop ‘kick-arse’ style 70’s action, with another rousing score by genre expert Franco Micalizzi .

Lenzi the director really knows how to keep things going at a great pace, and Maurizio Merli giving his boss some crap was probably down to the success of Dirty Harry.

Just viewed SEASON FOR ASSASSINS directed by Marcello Andrei.

Watchable crime film starring Joe Dallesandro who puts in a decent performance, and co stars the ever reliable Martin Balsam (who I really enjoy in Damiani’s Confessions of a Police Captain).

All the usual violence and mayhem (and car chase!) are here, with the violence a little perhaps more sadistic than usual in this one.

Film moves along at a fairly brisk pace, and is well worth seeking out.

Last one I watched was Mario Caiano’s Weapons of Death /Napoli Spara with Leonard Mann and Henry Silva. Good one with lots of action and nice music by de Masi. There’s maybe too much comedic scenes with some kids but in the they’re actually quite good variation as this film is quite violent and has some very nasty scenes, for example scene where prison inmates castrate a pedofile. :-X

And there’s some nudity too, of course:

I agree Weapons of Death is a good one :).

I also think it’s pretty good…
(even tho’ I’ve never actually seen it :-*)

This one is out on dvd from our friends at koch-media.
Is it their version of it you have?

Since i’m asking is because I have been thinking about purchasing it, but I don’t know wether it has english options or not.

No, I watched vhs-version (or tv, I’m not sure). This screenshot isn’t from my version which wasn’t up to that quality. I’m not sure about Koch’s release but I think it doesn’t have english options.

I do not know about the audio options on the Koch disc, but the disc is missing a few gory scenes (one of which Bill mentioned I suspect).

The Deuce has some info here:

The U.K pre-cert VHS tape is uncut (which is slightly letterboxed), and this is available on DVD R from some suppliers.

I have just recently bought a 2-disc set of The Violent Professionals and The Big Racket both great movies which i had never before until now, i picked it up new for £1 .

Other Italo-Crime movies in my collection are :

The Cop In Blue Jeans/Rulers of the City/Knell - The Bloody Avenger ( Jack Palance).

The Bloody Hands of the Law (Kinski)

Stateline Motel / Plot of Fear (Wallach)

Where did you pick those up mate? £1 sounds like a bloody bargain!

This one, right?

What’s the quality like of The Violent Professionals on that release ?

Poundland

The quality is excellent, it’s digitally remastered.

It’s a Vipco release.

OK. Thanks. Will have to look that up then.

I’ll keep an eye out for it. Cheers
