I hope there is still time for watching those with the new job. Success buddy
A bit less atm but mainly just because im adjusting to that 8:30-5:30 schedule + an hour drive either way . Once im fully trained up I get two days a week to work from home tho so gonna have those as my film days I think
Since my birthday is coming up, I wanted to purchase something for myself. I decided to get the complete Gunsmoke movie collection. These spin-off films were a huge part of my childhood since they were routinely shown on Channel 5 in the UK.
Werewolves and Sci-Fi on Bluray…
Plus, on DVD, for just £1.00…the excellent first series of animated Batman.
the Skylines series is a great direct-to-VOD guilty pleasure
Just bought several fistfuls of Blurays…
Newly restored old favourites from 1973/74…I can’t believe that its 50 years ago that I saw these on the big screen…Rollicking good tales featuring a plethora of Hollywood stars.
1973
1974
Below: ‘NorthSea Hijack’ (aka ‘Ffolkes’), 1980
I’d been after this Roger Moore adventure for ages, so very pleased to get it at a good price…A rip-roaring adventure featuring James Bond v Norman Bates…
It’s great to see Sir Roger back alongside David Hedison again, since their time together in the Bond adventure, ‘Live and Let Die’ (1973).
And some recent releases…
I’m also a big fan of the 1970’s ‘Musketeers’ films, though the Blu Ray I got a few years ago didn’t impress me - it had the look of of an upscaled DVD rather than a true 1080p
Having seen both films on a double feature, circa 1977 or 78 … I remember even as a kid how beautiful these films looked.
Hoping the remastered release does the films justice.
‘North Sea Hijack’ is also good craic … a nice Sunday afternoon, undemanding but enjoyable movie .
Thank you, amigo. I’ll let you know how good they are, once they have arrived from Amazon, and I’ve had a chance to view them.
Love to hear that the image quality has been improved - Cheers!
Overlord rocked
Hi, Aldo.
I received the ‘Musketeer’ Bluray films this afternoon…and am pleased to say that, IMHO, the picture and audio from ‘Vintage Classics’ are top-notch, and a definite improvement on what I had before on BD.
Well worth an update, if only for the excellent new extras…
Extras:
Neil Sinyard on The Three Musketeers
The Saga of the Musketeers Part 1
The Making of ‘The Musketeers’ vintage EPK
Original Trailer
Extras:
Neil Sinyard on The Four Musketeers
The Saga of the Musketeers Part 2
Original Trailer
That’s great news … I’d seen the extras on an American release, which are very entertaining - Especially Christopher Lee chatting about the danger of fencing drunk Ollie Reed with real swords !
After seeing your original post, I checked out the old BD release again, as I hadn’t bothered to look at ‘The Four Musketeers’, assuming it would be similar in quality … well, it’s actually much better than the first film or disc, should I say.
Looks like I’ll have to get these again at some point - Thanks for your feedback.
