They sound rather serious to me. I guess the first one was a hit in France & Belgium; they used to translate popular songs and record them with a local star. Sometimes both versions were on the charts, the original version and the French version. Sometimes French speaking people are more familar with those French versions than with the originals.

Here’s a song that was a hit (in France) when you’re mother was young (in the case of Silence: before your mother was born):

I mean they’re fun, not ridiculous… and yes it was common practice in many countries for singers to record popular songs in their native language, in the 1950s or 1960s

Like both, but perhaps Goldfinger wins the battle. Love the main song which was covered by a Portuguese band a couple of years ago.
