Has anyone seen this documentary from 2013? I remember it coming out but never heard of any distribution. It seems to have disappeared now.
I’d even be curious to see it in Italian, English subtitles seem implausible!

The documentary you are looking for is most likely “Giuliano Gemma: Un italiano nel mondo” (“Giuliano Gemma: An Italian in the World”) from 2013.
It is a portrait of Giuliano Gemma, his life and his career as a star of Spaghetti Westerns and cult films of the 1970s. The story is told by his daughter Vera, featuring archive footage and interviews with Dario Argento, Monica Bellucci, Bud Spencer, Ennio Morricone, Lina Wertmüller, Barbara Bouchet and others.
I haven’t seen this documentary myself, but I would also be interested in it.
