[DVD] Latest and Upcoming Releases

I thought it was widescreen -_- it said widescreen format on Amazon…

Maybe I’m miss remembering the specifics, but it is definitely cropped at the sides I remember that.

Movies 4 You: Spaghetti Westerns A PISTOL FOR RINGO THE RETURN OF RINGO RINGO: FACE OF REVENGE SHOOT, GRINGO...SHOOT!

Got it in the post today…crappy full screen (4:3) letterbox picture like the video asia sets. Not what I was hoping for at all. I suppose it’s ok if you’re someone who’s still using an older CRT 4:3 TV but I upgraded to widescreen LCD years ago now. Might’ve loved this set back when I joined the forums in 2010 but these days it’s useless to me sadly. They could’ve at least made the picture 16:9 anamorphic and spread the films over 2 discs instead of 1.

Well, BU, according to the podcast below, is rumored(?) to be releasing Man, Pride, and Vengeance sometime! :o
At the 2:00:00 mark it starts off with the releases

“Thunder at the Border”, one of the later Winnetou films, which stars Rod Cameron and Pierre Brice is being released on DVD-R by Sony as part of its choice collection on April 1st. This may be the only DVD release that contains English audio.

My Name Is Pecos
Pecos Cleans Up.

Ooooh. That looks pretty interesting (at least for Europeans for who find getting Wild East DVDs a bit of a hassle). At 2.5 are interesting.

I really would like to know, if the Sartana version of this release is cut. I’m pretty sure it is because the Xcess version recently realeased in Germany is uncut (labeled for adults only) whereas the Koch-release has a voluntary self-regulation for the age of sixteen. Does anybody know?

OK, my question is answered. According to “Schnittberichte.com” Koch’s Sartana release is definitely uncut. Additionally, all four flics (Lanky Fellow, the two Pecos and Sartana) will be provided with English audio tracks: Aktuelle News zu geschnittenen oder zensierten Filmen und Games

I’m definitely getting this. Anyone got news on the Wild East supposed Blu Ray?

Comes out this Tuesday apparently, but no preorder options. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m on amazon Germany trying to pre order the Italo-western Encyclopedia vol. 3, but don’t understand a word of German. Anyone know the process for it in German?.

I think it is identical with how Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk works? Same buttons at same places, just in different language.* And the same Amazon account works there (only Japanese Amazon requires a new account) so the credit card infos and addresses are already there.

But I guess you could use Google’s Chrome browser and let it do automatic translation on every page (the translations are good enough). It might not translate a couple of the buttons but you could write the text in those into the google translate at https://translate.google.com/

*I tried to check the process on both Amazon.com and Amazon.de but once I pressed ‘Zur Kasse gehen’ it asked my email and password and once I wrote those it automatically went into the final screen with all the proper info (all that was left to do was to check everything was correct and then press the final yellow button, Jetzt kaufen) so… :stuck_out_tongue:

Excellent, I’ll give it a try.

Finally, after much translation and trial and error, I’ve finally pre ordered it. Now I just hope they remember to send it to the UK.

Glad you sorted it, may have to order it myself  .

I’ve noticed that U.S., Germany, Japan and Spain all change the currency for you at the end (ideal if your bank makes a charge for conversions) but for some reason Italy doesn’t. Can’t remember about France, haven’t used them for god knows how long.

I just happened across a company called Retrovision. They will apparently be releasing a remastered Django Il Bastardo / Strangers Gundown on DVD.

I am very pleased about this as I really like this film and the VCI release is SHIT. All other available versions ive found have no English options.

They are also doing a Blu Ray of THE SHARK HUNTER by Enzo G Castellari, starring Franco Nero:

Great news but isn’t that Peter Martel and Leonard Mann on the cover art? I could be wrong.

Yeah, a guy from Retrovision announced their intention to release Django the Bastard right here on these forums back in Marchhttp://forum.spaghetti-western.net/index.php/topic,631.msg166332.html#msg166332. He also said that they were in negotiations to secure the rights to release the Trinity movies on blu-ray, but that was far from certain. Initially hopeful of a Spring release for DtB, that was revised to a tentative Autumn appearance while they fine-tuned the colour timing, checked for audio drop out et cetera. Hadn’t heard from him for a few months now but I guess everything’s coming together.
