Captain Apache (Alexander Singer, 1971)

Lee was hired by Spanish-based American producer Philip Yordan to make two westerns virtually back to back of which Captain Apache was the first (filmed in late 1970) and Badman’s River (filmed Jan-Mid March 1971) was the second. He wears the same rug in both and carried it over to Return of Sabata and The Magnificent 7 Ride before reverting to being an own-up baldie for The Grand Duel.
According to Bernard Gordon, once Badman’s River was done Van Cleef had to spend a couple of weeks on reshoots for Captain Apache as the plot didn’t make sense after they had assembled it together. Yordan couldn’t use Alexander Singer again as his Spanish co-production partners for the second western demanded a Spanish director.
