It looks like we will have to pay an extra €3 per DVD package from the UK or US now. I understand taxing all the Temu junk, but it’s not like you can just find a special edition spaghetti western where ever you want… maybe some local Amazon’s might be able to get around this if they are bringing in bulk and selling onwards.

This week I bought Radiance’s Confessions of A Police Captain via Amazon.ie for example.

82 The Hills Run Red (Carlo Lizzani) Ennio Moricone 1966

Not bad, not bad at all, but near the bottom of my 6/10 rated SWs.

Kino may also bring a 4K of this so… Caution

Sounds exciting before I realised I misunderstood…

My wish with Rosalba Neri et al should be a best seller with the right PR…

The cover looks fantastic but I hope it has a reversible cover :cowboy_hat_face:

I am on team ā€œoriginal poster artā€. this one does look fantastic, but the original poster art would still be preferrable in my opinion

The German poster designed by Hans-Georg Kredewahn is also available in a very attractive A0 format. Unfortunately, it’s probably not very suitable for a standard portrait-oriented cover.

Italian friends please pre-order

How does it compare to the StudioCanal edition?

Key Differences:

Arrow Red Sun 4K (2026, US/Canada)

  • 4K UHD only, no Blu-ray included

  • Original lossless English mono audio

  • Audio commentary by critics C. Courtney Joyner and Henry Parke

  • New essays and appreciation pieces by scholars/critics (Arroyo, Miyao, Gallagher)

  • Archival behind-the-scenes and interview materials

  • Reversible sleeve with new art by Robert Sammelin

  • Collectors’ booklet with new writing

  • Image gallery

  • Release date July 13-14, 2026

  • Region A

StudioCanal Red Sun 4K (2024)

  • 4K UHD + Blu-ray combo

  • Original LPCM 2.0 audio

  • Steven Okazaki interview on Toshiro Mifune

  • Archival on-set extract (Pour le CinĆ©ma)

  • Original trailer

  • Limited Edition slipcover

  • Region free 4K, Region B Blu-ray

  • Released September 9, 2024

Picture Quality: Both use the same 4K restoration from the original camera negative, so the image is essentially identical

Well just because the same restoratiion is used doesn’t necessarily mean the image is the same, labels such as Arrow are know to sometimes put their own finishing touches on material received from the rights holder (e.g. color correction). But yeah I would assume it’s quite similar. As for the extras etc it will come down to what folks deem more valuable for their money

Looks like Arrow has done a bit of extra colour grading for their 4K of Red Sun. Looks a lot less drab!

@Max Yep, Arrow have done it again. Much better color grade compared to the Studio Canal 4K/Blu. :+1:

Now I’m wondering which of the two the German release is closer to
