I hope that someone can properly translate this but the main point is easy understandable :'( .

they’re saying they won’t release spaghettis anytime soon… because the numbers speak against it… but they will release castellari’s inglorious bastards, because they sold the shit out of it.
i wonder why they released silver saddle then… they probably had to so they dont lose the license

For crying out (very) loud !

It probably were the astonishing sales of Silver Saddle which convinced Koch that SWs on BR won’t make them rich.

It’d look great remastered in widescreen.

Hey guys.

I am new to this forum, so I don’t know exactly where to post my question.

I read about the Bluray release of “The great silence”, but that was a few months ago. Does anyone of you have any news?

Thanks in advance.

This may anwer your question: The Great Silence / Leichen pflastern seinen Weg Blu-Ray pre-order | A Fistful of DVDs

March release of French magazine Les Années Laser has interview with the director of marketing from Paramount France who revealed that Once Upon a Time in the West will be released in France in June.
I have seen this in the post of member zemat at Blu-ray.com forum.

interesting to hear whether it is a new master. i have heard that what was used for the DVD is quite low bit rate

I just watched a brand new copy of it at my local cinematheque three months ago. It was amazing, so I dont think that would be a problem.

Speaking with the French magazine Les années laser, Sylvie Collombet, chief of marketing of Paramount France, revealed two major titles that are on the studio's slate for Blu-ray release: Once Upon a Time in the West and Le Mans will come out in June, and Breakfast at Tiffany's in September.

Its on.

Anyone found any reviews of the Mill Creek Blu-Rays?

I have read from several places that the discs will be only single-layered so there is like 11GB of space per movie (since they put two on one) when dual layered DVDs can hold 9GB…

Also from DVDTalk forumshttp://forum.dvdtalk.com/hd-talk/585203-hey-vern-ernest-coming-blu-ray-2.html:

[i]in regards to DJANGO, i shot Blue Underground an email and this was their response:

Well, they are at 11$, so I think its pretty obvious this is shit.

Paramount Home Entertainment has announced no fewer than four western movies from its late-60s and early-70s catalog for Blu-ray release on May 31, in time for Father's Day: Big Jake (George Sherman, 1971), A Man Called Horse (Elliot Silverstein, 1970), Once Upon a Time in the West (Sergio Leone, 1968) and Rio Lobo (Howard Hawks, 1970).

Special features have been listed only for Once Upon a Time in the West and they include:

* Commentary featuring directors John Carpenter, John Milius and Alex Cox, film historians Sir Christopher Frayling and Dr. Sheldon Hall plus cast and crew
* An Opera of Violence
* The Wages of Sin
* Something to Do with Death
* Railroad: Revolutionising the West
* Locations Then & Now
* Production Gallery
* Theatrical Trailer (in HD)
* Easter Egg – New Trailer</blockquote>

Must be why they are delayed or unavailable on amazon.

Matt Bauer on AVManiacs forum:

The Last Gun/4 Dollars of Revenge doesn't fare as well. Again, the bitrate is the same, but it doesn't look like any type of restoration was done on either of them. The added resolution and increased bitrate over a DVD obviously has them looking better than they would have if crammed onto a single DVD un-restored like Mill Creek does on many of their double feature releases from the past, but don't expect big things from this one. Once it's down to $5-6, you likely wouldn't regret the purchase.

Also, audio is lossless DTS & Dolby Digital on all of them.

Here’s a few screenshots from the The Last Gun / 4 Dollars of Revenge Blu-Ray. I have more but my internet is so crappy right now that it is a wonder I can stay online (and only because I have a table fan spinning and directed right towards my mobile stick [it would get too hot for regular surfing otherwise…]) and uploading is a bit of a pain. :smiley:

The Last Gun

4 Dollars of Revenge

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality (my expectations were super low though).
There are lots of scratches and white specks all the time, and I figure both films suffer from the fact that they both are barely bigger than a DVD release would be as far as used space goes. The quality varies a bit from scene to scene.
