Black Patch (1957)

I recently watched this U.S. western starring George Montgomery and Leo Gordon, which was written by Leo Gordon. This is a very interesting BW western which also has House Peters, Jr., Strother Martin and even Dan Blocker in a bit part. The music was by Jerry Goldsmith, which I believe was one of his first scores.

The most interesting thing about this movie is what appears to be the inspiration for Scott Mary from “Day of Anger”. There is a kid called fly trap in the movie who, as far as I am concerned, was lifted out of this movie and included in “Day of Anger”. I would love to know who from the “Day of Anger” production had seen this movie. This is really worth seeing.
