Alternative Top 20

I’ll link the page to the front page, official top 20 etc soon.

It looks great.

Great page & excellent use of the word kablooey

My Alternative top 20 list(in no particular order)

Mannaja.
Sabata.
$10.000 blood money.
Wanted.
Blindman.
Navajo Joe.
Cut throats nine.
Between god, the devil and a Winchester.
If you meet sartana pray for your death.
Killer Kid.
Shoot the living and pray for the dead.
A long ride from hell.
Gatling Gun.
The grand duel.
Johnny Yuma.
A taste of death.
California.
Black Jack.
The Specialist.
Beyond the Law.

Yeah, the page looks cool. I find this alternative list much more interesting than the official top20 which has just all the essential films. This list has some surprising titles.

Thanks fellas.

That’s fine Korano. Every film listed gets a point on this particular list so precise order doesn’t really matter.

@ Korano

Started to add your picks this morning and realised you had chosen Death Rides a Horse which is in our official Top 20 so doesn’t qualify here. Also noted you only had 10 choices anyway so thought I’d check your regular Top 20 for a possible replacement. When I looked I realised that your regular Top 30 is full of films which would qualify for this Alternative list. In fact, a full 20. For example, all of the ones listed below:

Shoot the Living, Pray For the Dead
Matalo
Night of the Serpent
Vengeance
Mannaja
And God Said to Cain
Taste of Vengeance
The Specialist
A Reason to Live, A Reason to Die
Price of Death
Get Mean
Massacre Time
Beyond the Law
Return of Ringo
Pistol for Ringo
Yankee
Sabata
They Call Him Hallelujah
Ben and Charlie
The Forgotten Pistolero

Just to clarify, your Alternative Top 20 should be your 20 favourite films which do no appear in our Official Top 20. If they are already in your Top 20 but don’t make the site’s top 20 you should include them here.

So, based on that, shall I just use the titles above or do you want to compile another, more up to date list?

I rate Requiem for a Gringo very highly.

Patience, Phil. Once the young & reckless will be old & wise, it’s just a matter of time

This guy once was one of the greatest (song) writers of his generation and became a muslim, I’m sure our korano will follow the opposite direction and stun entire generations with his writings in the future

@Phil
That’s fine. I was always a fan of the obscure.

@Scherp
Ihae always liked Steven’s. Got old record of Tea for the Tillerman.

Wow. Haven’t had a new one of these for a while.
Cheers, Sartana1968. I’ll add it to the data.

@ Sartana1968

Actually, on checking your list, you are going to have to make some changes before I add it to the others.

The rules of the Alternative Top 20 list is that it can’t contain any films which are already featured in the Official Top 20. Not your top 20, but this one:

So that means that the following films cannot be included in your Alternative Top 20.
my alternative 20

 1. the good the bad and the ugly 1966
 2. the big gundown 1966
 3. fistfull of dinamite 1971
 4. the mercenary 1968
The others are all OK but I’ll need replacements for the above.

@Sartana1968

OK, last message on this from me now.
I was intrigued as to why there were no Sartana films in your Alternative list. Your forum name kind of suggests you might be a fan of these. So I checked back over your Official Top 20 selections and now think you perhaps are not 100% clear on how the Alternative list operates. The rules are explained at the top of the Alt Top 20 list page but, as a brief explanation, the idea is to list 20 favourite films of yours that do not feature in the Official Top 20. That is to say, not your top 20 but the Official list made up of everyone’s votes. That means that any film you have in your personal top 20 which hasn’t made the cut in the official one can feature in your alternative list too. For example, you listed If You Meet Sartana Pray for Your Death as your number 1 film in your personal top 20. That film does not feature in our Official list so you should include it in your alternative list too. Fundamentally the idea is to include the films you like best which are not getting the love you think they deserve. By this token all of the films below from your Top 20 list could feature in your Alternative list.

 1. if you meet sartana pray for your death
 2. sabata
 3. light the fuse sartana is coming
 4. the grand duel
 5. Ballata per un pistolero 1967 directed by alfio catabiano
 6. they call him cemetery
 7. adios sabata
 8. texas adios
 9. apocalypse joe
 10. a name that cried for revenge 1968 directed by mario caiano starring: anthony steffen and william berger
 11. those dirty dogs
 12. arizona colt
 13. moment to kill
 14. no room to die
 15. navajo joe
 16. a man called blade

Hope that makes it clearer. Why not compile another list and post it again.

Wait… the Alternative Top 20 is also made up from user’s lists? I had no idea! Wow, I’m lame. :-[

Just read the complete thread …
