Well, I am 2 weeks abroad for work and have some Spaghettiās from youtube with me, and the first I watched was 3 colpi di Winchester per Ringo.
Most interesting about the movie was reading this thread with your opinions about this flick.
What can one say more about this movie. I think the canon in the cave explains it best:
Great idea to have the cannon witrh different barrels but then the ideas stopped:

Ok, it is fiction but it does not backfire
Shooting and exploding would have been awful noisy in a cave
The bullets explode but the cave can handle these explosion very easily
Smoke from the cannon and explosions would have caused a very misty enviroment
So, a lot of nice ideas but then it stopped in the scenario. This combined with some bad acting does not make it one of the best spaghettiās.
It is from 66 so I think it was a quick cash-in movie. Next week there will be another one and this one will be forgotten type of movie. It is a pity because it could have become more than that with proper preperations and better actors.
Itās quite shoddy and slipshod with a confusing change in the passage of time by 10 years after which everyone looks the same and is in the same social position/circumstances. I agree it looks cut - the Jane/Ringo marriage for example seems to have been removed. Huge body count though. The numerous henchmen are an improbable diverse cultural army of clean-cut Americans, Mexicans and renegade Confederates. The action scenes are terrible; some of the worst choreographed I have seen. There is a ridiculous subplot in which the hero goes blind from being whacked on the head and recovers his sight after another whack. Those exotic dances in the cave were very weird and I think a few posters have suggested this might have been a peplum script originally re-written as a western. Filmed in Winter 1965 judging from visible breath when characters speak, just after the peplum craze had finished.
just a little silly movie , that wanted to be a SW, and itās just like a peplum with a western setting. Mitchell is in his overacting modus, thatās quiet entertaining. Itās interesting about its historical origin, but as a SW itās near the bottom. I like it for what it is, but nothing to recommend.
