1001 Movies to Watch Before You Die

Thanks… It took me quite a while, as you can imagine.

I don’t know about that, there some excellent movies on here (especially the ones I myself voted for ;D).

Of course I’m joking but in defense of my joke, I really have no burning desire to see Mandingo, Ebola Syndrome, Laugh clown laugh, killer klowns from outer space, or even Deep Throat, all before I die.

But on the serious side, I would consider The Naked Prey (which I’m watching today), From here to eternity, The Conformist, and Rashomon movies to see before you die.

Film for every mood and occasion in the list.

I think 1001 is too much, it’s of course a good list, and you’ve done a tremendous job, but the list is not workable
Reminds me a of a short movie about a man (I think he was played by Rowin Atkinson) who is told that he has only 24 hours to live; he runs to a bookshop and asks the owner to give him that one, absolutely must read novel, the novel everybody should read before he dies. The man gives him Tolstoy’s War and Peace, a novel of more than 1,000 pages. Now try to read that within 24 hours!

The 101 movies you should see before you die, that would be more like it
We should pick the 101 best out of this list (by trial & error), and print those titles (along with the rest) in bold

I got to agree with you - there are some movies I have no wish to watch, but on the other hand there are plenty I do want to see. I think the list has movies for everybody on it (after all the forum members did help create it and we all have differing tastes).

Thanks for the praise scherpschutter. I agree that 1001 was probably too many, but it’s a great number and you’ll always going to manage to fit all the classics and deserving movies on. I like your idea of 101 Movies to Watch Before You Die; does anyone else think we should do that?

And there are probably more movies on the list 'd want to see than not.

some ideas are on Furious Cinema, maybe www.furiouscinema.com

Not one Steven Seagal Film ??

I would of added these to the list but I’ve had a break from the site :-[

  • TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES some of the best costume/puppetering ever and one of the best comic movies made to date

  • Police story

  • From Dusk Till Dawn

  • True Romance

  • KickBoxer

  • Above the Law

  • American Werewolf In London

probably more but thats just me…

I can’t say for sure, but I think some of those titles, like Am American Werewolf in Paris, True Romance and From Dusk Till Dawn and maybe even Polive Story, are in there.

In another language maybe ?

None the less its my fault for not replying to the topic sooner…
