I know a lot.
Many great films which were released in cinemas were actually shot in the first place for TV (like e.g. My Beautiful Laundrette). Some of the best German films of the last years were mere TV productions.
And there are many fantastic TV series, of which many critics say that the better cinema happens meanwhile on TV.
