Could 10000 $ blood money really be top 20 stuff? I had watched it once and wasn’t much impressed. I guess I’ll have to watch it again.

It’s in 27th position now. Personally I think it’s better film than some particular films with higher points.

An outstanding movie, IMHO. Definitely Top 20 material and I’d be entirely unsurprised to see it in anyone’s Top 10. Just discussing it makes me want to stick it on; if I had time today, I almost certainly would.

Agreed! It’s in my top 20. To me, the movie has such a great Spaghetti Western vibe.

Definitely top 20 for me. An excellent film.

Watched it again. I liked it better than last time, but all the same I wasn’t overexited. The acting could have been better and the ghost-like sound was getting on my nerves.

My last Big Twenty was nearly six months ago now, so probably time for an update:

New points for El puro … clap, clap, clap …

Keoma is out, and I’m starting to believe that my favourite late spag is sella de argento from Fulci. This year I will view Collizi SW to confirm or have a different view on my first viewings
But that is only for 2015, for 2014 this will have to do.

Topos list brings Le gout de la violence in the top 100, despite being not named by many (me too) who think it is not a western. And kicks A Bullet for Sandoval out of the top 50. Also the first point for Uno straniero a Paso Bravo, which is now the SW # 201 in the big list.

Hmm, Paso Bravo really better than Sandoval? What’s wrong with the drinking water in Portugal?

So does this mean we are now officially counting La gout de la violence a Western?

There ain’t nothing official nor unofficial in the case of La gout de la violence. Last time we discussed this topic was an pages 110 and 111. Back then Bible Joe (another ex?) dropped it after some hesitating.

I only can say it would easily make my top 20, but as I don’t view it as a western it is not in my list.

Inspired choice, Topo!

But I agree with Stanton on Uno straniero a Paso Bravo… ;D

I knew this choice would not be…well unanimous, but I have to change something from time to time. Its like those strange or problematic choice of players for the national side during the world cup.

Anyway the water is fine, and the wine is even better ;D

I’ve seen about 100 SW until today

but i think that’s not enough for me to write a top 20

Imo it is enough. And you can change your list any time anyway.

More than enough, Reza.

Anyway, you can’t have more than twenty titles on your list (so far we have avoided ex aequos)

This is my first top 20:

  1. Good bad ugly
  2. For a few dollars more
  3. Once upon a time in the west
  4. La resa dei conti
  5. Fistful of dillars
  6. Django
  7. Mannaja
  8. Blindman
  9. Great silence
  10. Cemetery without crosses
  11. Il mercenario
  12. Death rides a horse
  13. Bullet for the general
  14. Companeros
  15. Sabata
  16. Keoma
  17. Return of ringo
  18. Duck you sucker
  19. Preparati la bara
  20. Django kill
