Vote for Our Official Top 20

Good stuff, Stanton 8)

-Top Ten stays the same.
-Entire Top Twenty almost stays the same; Django Kill (down one) and The Return of Ringo (up one) swap places but that’s it.
-A lot of movement in the 21-50 numbers - only 9 non-movers in that bunch - but it’s mostly moves up or down by just one or two.
-Biggest climber? Bandidos, up 4 to 33.
-Biggest faller? Trinity is Still My Name, down 4 to 46.
-New entries? Just the one: They Call Him Cemetery, in at 47.
-Saying Farewell to the Fifty: Yankee, previously at number 50.

Biggest climber? Bandidos, up 4 to 33.

The other day, I got that DVD. I really need to watch it.

Even though I really like Death Sentence, El Puro and A Bullet for Sandoval, I still think that overall the 51-73 numbers are preferable - or at least in no way inferior - to 31-50.

What happened to Professionisti per un massacro? Were its 19 points the result of 1 vote?

Great work Stanton!

Thanks, but surely not half as much work as one of your reviews.

Yes, only one vote. From Hoover Valentine (lone defender of Spuff Vermon  )

Actually one is still in with only one vote. Death Played the Flute’s 25 points came also only from one voter, but it was the top position. Sentimental as I’m, I made an exception. Made the top 100 with that one vote coming from a Leone free and nearly top 20 free list.

Of course they will stay in my excel list, and if one day one gets a 2nd vote, then this one can make quite a jump.

Hmm, lots of turkeys, many comedies, all PLL flics (big loss, giggle), only 3 I like enough to reach my 6/10 status.

There are a bunch of 7/10’s there, as far as I’m concerned.
Cjamango
Those Dirty Dogs
Kill the Wicked
The Stranger and the Gunfighter
… and a load of 6/10’s, but plenty of crappy ones as well.

Those are great lists, thanks Stanton. Have to make sure I watch all of them! I wonder if God Forgives…I don’t would be ranked a little higher if there were a good English friendly version available. Seems like it may deserve higher than #32… Maybe Unholy Four should be higher than #128  Ive never been a big fan of Keoma (#15) I’d rather watch They call me Hallelujah or Kill and Pray than Keoma any day. Apocalypse Joe at 119? Thought it was better than that. Also I doubt there are 190 SWs more entertaining than The Stranger and the Gunfighter!

Unfortunately God Forgives has lost steadily ground in the last years. It was around # 25 in 2009.

The list is representative, but it is not objective. It represents taste, not objectivity. Objectivity is an illusion anyway.

As only personal favourites are named there are certainly some films which many like, only not as much to make a top 20. Such films are then not fairly represented in a list which asks only for 20 films. It also explains the big differences in points between GBU and a film on #20 or #50.

Still the more votes we have the more meaningful the list is.
The first 20 turned out pretty quick. Only Return of Ringo needed some more time to enter it. Prior to that Sabata, If you Meet Sartana and Blindman quarrelled about rank 20, but now they won’t have much of a chance to return, while Return of Ringo even climbed up to # 18. I assume the top 20 will stay as it is now, with only a few changing places now and then. Oh and it seems that Companeros is now out of the Top 10 for some time.

But with so many votes the list becomes also representative for the films which are following the Top 20. The point where the films which are included are more defined by happenstance begins around # 75. Five Man Army at # 79 has only 3 votes and The Price of Death at # 92 has only 2 votes.

Maybe with Blue Underground’s Blu-ray release of Campaneros later this year, it could get a boost…

Great work Stanton, although I’m shocked and saddened that such an obvious classic as God’s Gun only has one vote; I may need to reinstate into my Top 20!

I’m also shocked that God’s Gun really got one vote. I smell the devil at work to sabotage the holy work done here …

Time for my list:

On a general note:
If someone wants to change his list, he should always post a new one instead of changing one a dozen pages ago, or inform me at least that he changed his list on page x. Otherwise I’m not able to integrate this change in the big list. My clairvoyant abilities got a bit rusty in the last years.

Am I allowed to vote or no? ???

Everybody is allowed. Why do you think you are not?

of cooourse you are
you are allowed to do many things
for example you are allowed to put God’s Gun on the first place
or some other top notch spaghie
but God’s Gun will do fine

Oh, I don’t know. I thought I would ask first since i’m kinda of a newbie here.

Everybody is welcome …
