Two Crosses at Danger Pass / Dos cruces en Danger Pass (Rafael Romero Marchent, 1967)

Here is a translation of the Italian censor cuts. These are very crudely implemented and appear to persist to current prints.

Passed without age restrictions in September 1967 after the following cuts: 1) Part 1a - Swinging of the hanged man. 2) Part 1a – Fall and death of sheriff and wife killed by Moran. 3) Part 2a – Part of the beating of the fat cowboy in the saloon retaining only the beginning and final part, i.e., the killing of the cowboy himself (NB: section excised from cowboy lying on ground to him shot whilst grasping Edith). 4) Part 4a – Eliminate part of Mark’s beating by his brother Alex. 5) Part 5a - Elimination, in the final scene of Charles and Mark’s duel, of the part in which Charles is seen shooting and hitting Mark’s hands (NB: as noted in earlier posting the wounds on Mark’s hands appear out of nowhere)

Two censored shots - the falling down of Sheriff Mitchell after being shot and a knee into the face of the fat cowboy - can be found in the English trailer on the Wild East DVD.

There are also really bad errors in the names of the hero’s parents graves in the cemetery. The two graves are inscribed ‘Mrs Mitchell’ and ‘T Mitehell’. Father spelt wrong and no-one must have told the props guys the wife’s name. Not even Miller I guess!

On the Peter Martell documentary on this website, a ledger is shown giving the dates that Martell made several of his movies. For some reason this ledger is shown only briefly and what is shown is incomplete although it is more interesting than much of the documentary which discusses very little about his movies. Martell filmed this between 4 February and 15 March 1967.
