Alternative Top 20

Apart from tomas and considering that Handcuffs68 and chameleon are the same person I count 39 users… ???

Yes, my bad. I’d forgotten to add a couple of names to my list of contributors.

Right, it’s been roughly six months since my last stab at an Alternative Big 20, lets have another go:

  1. Mannaja (A Man Called Blade) (Sergio Martino, 1977)
  2. Réquiem para el gringo (Duel in the Eclipse) (José Luis Merino, 1968)
  3. La taglia è tua… l’uomo l’ammazzo io (El Puro) (Edoardo Mulargia, 1969)
  4. 10.000 dollari per un massacro (10,000 Dollars For a Massacre) (Romolo Guerrieri, 1967)
  5. Il pistolero dell’Ave Maria (The Forgotten Pistolero) (Ferdinando Baldi, 1969)
  6. Navajo Joe (Sergio Corbucci, 1966)
  7. Oggi a me… domani a te! (Today It’s Me… Tomorrow You!) (Tonino Cervi, 1968)
  8. Il prezzo del potere (The Price of Power) (Tonino Valerii, 1969)
  9. El desperado (The Dirty Outlaws) (Franco Rossetti, 1967)
  10. Se incontri Sartana prega per la tua morte (If You Meet Sartana, Pray For Your Death) (Gianfranco Parolini, 1968)
  11. Dio perdona… Io no! (God Forgives, I Don’t) (Giuseppe Colizzi, 1967)
  12. Preparati la bara! (Django, Prepare a Coffin) (Ferdinando Baldi, 1968)
  13. Le colt cantarono la morte e fu… tempo di massacro (Massacre Time) (Lucio Fulci, 1966)
  14. Il grande duello (The Grand Duel) (Giancarlo Santi, 1972)
  15. Buon funerale, amigos!.. paga Sartana (Have a Good Funeral, My Friend… Sartana Will Pay) (Giuliano Carnimeo, 1970)
  16. Dio non paga il sabato (Kill the Wickeds) (Tanio Boccia, 1967)
  17. Una nuvola di polvere… un grido di morte… arriva Sartana (Light the Fuse… Sartana is Coming) (Giuliano Carnimeo, 1970)
  18. Bandidos (Massimo Dallamano, 1967)
  19. Black Jack (Gianfranco Baldanello, 1968)
  20. Mátalo! (Kill Him!) (Cesare Canevari, 1970)

Now that there, is a pretty f*cking sexy Alternative Big 20. Yup.

It’s about time, I guess, that I rewatch Mannaja. Can’t say too much about it. I watched it once, but didn’t really know what to make of it.

Otherwise an interesting list. With the exception of The Grand Duel (don’t like that one at all) these are movies I like as well, some better than others, of course. Bandidos is a special favorite, Top 10 for me.

‘GRAND DUEL’ always my favourite SW and for me even it has almoust the same story much much better than ‘BIG GUNDOWN’

You have really a different idea amigo!

The Grand Duel is on par with The Big Gundown, as far as I’m concerned.

For me the big gundown is better and upper.

as of today here are my choices.

  1. the ruthless four
  2. and god said to cain
  3. requiescant
  4. shoot the living, pray for the dead
  5. the moment to kill
  6. django the bastard
  7. god forgives, i dont
  8. kill them all and come back alone
  9. grand duel
  10. massacre time
  11. any gun can play
  12. sartana your angel of death
  13. today we kill, tomorrow we die
  14. the unholy four
  15. tepepa
  16. kill the wicked
  17. death sentance

Again I can only say: a very fine list, with the exception of THE GRAND DUEL (and I haven’t seen 3 + 4, and don’t know which film 19 is)

Full house for the devil is on a Wild East double bill with The moment to kill. On a side note all lot of my alternative top 20 make up my actual top 20. Shoot the living, Pray for the dead might be the best of the no budget sub category, a real gritty film.

I thought I’d start on a list now rather than never, so here goes:

  1. Death Sentence
  2. My Name Is Pecos
  3. The Ruthless Four
  4. Dead Men Ride
  5. Fury Of Johnny Kid
  6. Shoot The Living, Pray For The Dead
  7. Gatling Gun
  8. Hate Thy Neighbour
  9. Mannaja
  10. The Price Of Power
  11. A Stranger In Town
  12. Revenge Of The Resurrected
  13. Hate For Hate
  14. A Bullet For Sandoval
  15. The Unholy Four
  16. And God Said To Cain
  17. Massacre Time
  18. The Stranger And The Gunfighter
  19. Wanted
  20. Silver Saddle
  21. Today We Kill, Tomorrow We Die

Revenge Of The Resurrected ?

Another movie (title) I’ve never heard of. Crossover with Biblical?

Seems to be this one:

Don’t think I’m familiar with it

Yes, it’s Prey of Vultures.

Peter Lee Lawrence in a very mediocre spaghetti, not one of his best IMO.

A low-budget masterpiece in my view. Making allowances for its uncannily scanty budget, it’s a miraculously crafted pic. I love it, I think I’ve already seen it 6 or 7 times. :stuck_out_tongue:

I agree 100%. I have only seen it twice but that will no doubt increase. The Koch dvd is fantastic quality.

I concur what Mickey and polli said about Shoot the living, pray for the dead, that is a good one, you should give it a try. Can’t say the same about Requiescant, it’s ok, but kind of dull, not very memorable. Lou Castel had only one great role in SW…

If anyone else wants to add an Alternative Top 20 list now is a good time. I will be updating the list over the next few days.
